Kositzka, Wicks & Company, CPAs has expanded its presence in Virginia by adding Biegler & Associates in Richmond.
Combined with KWC's existing office in Alexandria, the firm now has 90 employees when the merger took effect on Jan. 1, 2017.
“This combination allows us to extend our geographic footprint and add a great group of talented people all committed to helping clients achieve success," said KWC managing principal Steve Travis in a statement. “When meeting as a leadership group, we all instantly connected. We have a shared passion for our work, and together, we are even better positioned to positively impact our clients. We're happy to have their team become part of our firm and culture."
Biegler & Associates managing principal Steve Biegler said his firm's management team believes that combining with KWC will give them an ability to build on a tradition of serving the local community. The firm has been providing accounting, tax and advisory services to midsize businesses, high net worth individuals and nonprofit organizations in Virginia since 1982.
“Clients will still receive the same close personal attention they have come to expect from us, but our combined resources will offer an opportunity to expand our services and expertise,” he said in a statement. “We believe that KWC has our same service philosophy and culture which will ensure a seamless transition for staff and clients as well. KWC also has a well-earned reputation as a great workplace and our people will now have even more opportunities to pursue career growth."
Biegler will serve as managing principal for KWC's Richmond office, and all of his co-workers will continue to serve their clients from their current office in Richmond.
Transition Advisors, an M&A consulting firm dedicated to arranging accounting firm transactions, assisted in the merger.
