New Jersey Haefele Flanagan acquires Ratner and Associates Details: South Jersey accounting firm Haefele Flanagan Certified Public Accountants and Consultants, has acquired Ratner and Associates, a CPA firm based in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania.
The deal will expand the combined firm’s footprint and services to more clients across the Delaware Valley. With a total of more than 40 employees, they will operate under the Haefele Flanagan name, which has been in business since 1967. Earlier this month, Haefele Flanagan merged in another firm, Fisher, Van Sciver and Company, in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
“In addition to our strong presence in New Jersey, we have a substantial number of clients in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties, and we wanted to create a partnership that would continue to build on that practice,” said Haefele Flanagan managing partner James Rogers, Jr., in a statement. “The team at Ratner and Associates has a solid reputation and a business emphasis that is very compatible with our own. We are looking forward to a shared success as one team.”

Olsson & Company, CPAs joins RRBB Accountants and Advisors Details: RRBB Accountants and Advisors announced Tuesday that Olsson & Company, another firm in Somerset, N.J., will combine with RRBB, effective immediately.
Olsson & Company’s two partners, Ken Olsson and Bill Gatarz, are bringing their entire team with them to RRBB. “RRBB has been in business for over 50 years and has a great reputation,” they said in a letter for clients. “We have known some of their partners for many years and feel quite confident that it is the right fit for our clients and our staff. Joining forces with RRBB will also allow us to provide you with additional services that can be of great benefit.”
Pennsylvania Smith Elliott Kearns & Company merges in Klingler & Associates Details: Smith Elliott Kearns & Company, LLC added John Klingler and four professionals from his CPA firm Klingler & Associates, PC, a firm based in Carlisle, Pa., effective Jan. 1, 2017.
Klingler specializes in accounting and income tax consulting services for closely held businesses and individuals. All of his team members have relocated to SEK&Co’s offices in Carlisle and Camp Hill, Pa.
“We are happy to welcome the Klingler group to our team,” said SEK&Co managing member John R. Schnitzer, in a statement. “These seasoned accountants bring depth, experience and a culture fit to our already strong team of professionals in Cumberland County. This addition helps us continue to meet the changing demands of our clients and business partners now and in the future.”
