The Connecticut Society of CPAs named its 2016 New and Young Professionals to Watch: Mindyleigh Vail, Sarah Stover and Kenneth Healy.

The award honors CPAs age 35 or younger who have “set themselves apart as emerging leaders in the accounting profession.” Nominations were accepted in the fall, and the three honorees were selected by a panel of accountants based on their professional or workplace achievements, community service, and involvement in the society.

Vail is a manager at Nicola, Yester & Co., in Glastonbury. She earned a BS in Accounting and an MBA from the University of Connecticut. Among her achievements are co-developing her firm’s training/orientation program, and helping develop its WOW Committee.

Stover is a tax consultant at Edwin R. Muenzner CPA, in Franklin, and an adjunct professor at Three Rivers Community College, in Norwich. She earned an AS in Accounting from TRCC, a BS in Accounting from Post University, and is working on an MS in Accounting & Taxation at the University of Hartford (where she’s maintaining a 4.0 grade point average). She also serves on the Business Advisory Board at TRCC, and spends much of her time mentoring, tutoring and advising her students.

Healy works at Diversified Financial Solutions PC, in Naugatuck and Southbury. He earned a BS in Accounting from the University of Connecticut, and an MS in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame. He is deeply involved in his community, having recently chaired a local school’s annual appeal, and volunteering his accounting skills for the local United Way.
