Online accounting software provider Xero formally launched its new partner program recently.

The program offers accountants the ability to earn points for a range of interactions with Xero – from signing up clients and accepting advisor invitations to performing premium payrolls. A partner’s number of points determines their status, from Bronze to Silver, Gold and Platinum, and each status level comes with different perks, ranging from faster client data file conversion to eligibility for more marketing funds.

Partners are listed in Xero’s advisor directory, and they can update their profile through the Practice menu in Xero HQ. The directory includes a geo-sensing feature that showcases partners operating within the area where the small business is located. where they can update their profile. They are also eligible for new badges that demonstrate their expertise with Xero, and have access to the new Xero store, where they can by company merchandise and marketing resources.

The program was first announced at last fall’s XeroCon South in Australia.
